To Whom It May Concern:
I have been looking for the one missing link of my grandmother Margaret Jane Roycroft's (daught. of James Roycroft & Eliza Connell) siblings.
James Roycroft had a farm at Dunkelly, Goleen, the Mizen Peninsula. Eliza (Roycroft) Love was the sister my grandma talked about the most and I have been searching for what happened to her for 6 years now, I am at a brick wall, and I am hoping you might be able to help me.
I cannot locate the death date or what happened to this sister. I know that Eliza's husband, Richard Love, was from Clouncugger, Caheragh. He died on 6 Feb, 1930 and was an ex Royal Navy pensioner.
I know that Eliza was alive in 1935, per a letter, and feel strongly that she was still alive in 1944.
The only other thing that may help is that the family was Church of Ireland, yet had an interest in the Methodist Church and we have two letters from circuit Methodist Minister, Wm. Clarke dated 1887, who was based at Schull.
I cannot locate it on any map, but can you tell me about where Clouncugger, Caheragh might be on a map and do you know what church or church cemetery I might contact which might have records? Of course, I have no guarantee that Eliza remained at Caheragh.
As a side light, a Wm. Kingston - Solicitor, signed my great-grandfather James Roycroft's Will in 1916. He died in Sept. of 1921.
I would appreciate any information or assistance that you may have, and I would be grateful if you would pass it on to Micheál as per his details above.
